ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Jeni Bern and welcome to my site.

I’m a Civil Funeral Celebrant, an accredited member of the Institute of Civil Funerals and the Natural Death Society. I hold a level 3 NOCN Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy and full Public Liability insurance. I am proud to have adopted the Funeral Celebrant Accord, a professional code of conduct which I abide by.

Being a funeral celebrant has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and it has been an honour to have helped so many families say goodbye to their loved ones.

My background as a professional opera singer means that I have been telling stories in different ways for many years, and I’m delighted to bring all my professional skills together to help you celebrate and honour your loved ones. I will use my abilities and in-depth knowledge of poetry music and words to craft the perfect service for you, making sure your wishes are at the heart of everything I do.

I work to the highest standards, you can be sure I am professional, punctual and organised. I am confident in speaking to large gatherings and equally at home with small intimate groups. I love to use my creativity to help others and to be your voice when grief and loss overwhelm you. Above all, you can be sure I will come to you with honesty and integrity, hopefully with a few smiles along the way and treating everyone with the kindness, respect and dignity they deserve.  I consider it the highest compliment when a family entrust their loved one’s funeral to my care.

Having travelled all around the world with my music, I now live in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey with my two boys, and a mad ginger cat that has adopted us. When not singing, or writing, I can usually be found being an all-round domestic goddess….
